Alienware now has 480Hz Refresh Rates on Laptop Screens

If 120 frames-per-second displayed on the screen of your gaming laptop is twice better than 60 frames-per-second, then surely eight times as many frames must be eight times better do you think? That's the thinking behind the latest super high-refresh rate panels that are available on Alienware gaming laptops. The Dell subsidiary now sells its M17 R5 17-inch laptops as well as x17R2 17-inch laptops that feature brand new panels. It is claimed to be the fastest in industry.

While the panels are able to display 1080p resolution with this high-resolution speed of refresh, it's probably for the best. You'll have to run a game that can actually output nearly 500 frames-per-second for you to experience the benefits - switch off ray-tracing, and opt for Minecraft-grade textures, I suppose. The new panel has a 3ms response rate and is compatible with both AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync dependent on the GPU configuration. The upgrade is an extra $300 over the base 165Hz screen, which works out to 95 cents per hertz.

I've seen 120hz screens compared to 240hz screens at trade shows, and they were enough to convince me that even ultra-fast gamers could benefit from these screens.  Minecraft server list But how about doubling the speed again? It can't improve the performance of games I'm not sure, even for eSports pros who have Special Eyes. Gaming equipment is famous for its extravagant designs.
